Located in the heart of Colombo, the Taj Colombo stands proudly as part of the Taj Group of Hotels. With its prime location, one can expect authentic Indian cuisine. Stepping into Navratna, we were instantly captivated by the intricate murals adorning the walls, transporting us back to the glorious days of the Mughal Empire. The staff, dressed in uniforms that breathed life into history, added to the enchanting ambiance. Now, let's delve into the menu and embark on a culinary journey like no other. Total bill 14,900 for 2 pax    5 🌟 My journey began with a bowl of Shorba LKR 1200  Playfully resembled the yellowy hue of a dhal curry. However, to my delight, this light and milky soup infused with lemon grass than coriander revealed a perfect balance of flavors.     I was quite surprised at the space it had,  they played all 70,s and 80’s music.  Washroom was quite compact but ok, with old Galle face pictures hung up in the tiny pathway Which was nice to see  When sitting out beware of the crows!  Waiter could have smiled a bit!  Okie now for the food    3.5✨Coconut calamari with wasabi mayo LKR 1300 This was crispy and well fried, the wasabi sauce was the best!  4⭐️Golden fried crispy prawns LKR 1550  This too was crispy but the prawns were a bit more juicy compare to the later, the sauce was a sweet chili sauce  5⭐️Chicken Nasi goreng LKR 1450 was pretty good and spicy with plenty of prawn chips  5⭐️ Mojito pitcher - lime LKR 5500 MUST TRY I found this much more refreshing for that fact that it did not taste super sweet, as other places and was great for a hot day!  5⭐️Lion draft tower LKR 2750  I’m not a beer fan, but of lately I like this popular local beer, and I think I like it more than Carlsberg.    🤔Will I try this place again?  Yes

    It was around 9.30pm which is quite late for Kandy people to go out for dinner &  coinciding with the observance of Poson Poya Day gave us a limited choice .  When we arrived at the hotel,the atmosphere was calm, with only one other table occupied by diners engaged in quite conversation. We had heard about a delightful rooftop area but were informed that it was closed as the bar wasn't operational. As we settled in, a sudden encounter with a scurrying cockroach prompted us to swiftly relocate to another table.   Although the atmosphere of this restaurant can be a little intimidating, it is reasonably priced and popular with fans of street cuisine for a quick Pakistani lunch. 📝 Because the evenings are often busiest, the menu will be somewhat limited prior to 6 PM. Shawarma and naans will be served beginning at 6 PM.     4 ⭐️Large Chicken Biryani, LKR 1990 The fragrant herbs and hue-colored rice in colors of yellow to red made this Pakistani biriyani an attractive picture.  I’m so used to eating Biriyani which is a bit more gravy type, comparatively this was much dryer. Which was new to me,  However, there was just one piece of meat for the entire meal, which I think was not sufficient for a large portion. So I was a bit dismayed as it tasted so good.    5 ⭐️Prawn tikka LKR 1600  These were de-shelled, thoroughly marinated, and perfectly grilled. They were served with lime and thinly sliced onions.     —————————————  MY POV  Let’s get into details  The paratha was soft and warm, and it’s only available after 6.30 which is not at all convenient.  We ordered the spices fish, but for my LK standard this was   mild  5 MEEN VANJAARAM CURRY LKR 1500 The curry is thick and delicious, perfectly spicy and tangy with red chilli and tamarind, along with the sweetness of coconut.  A wedge of like would really enhance the flavor more which we did not ask, so try and leave a comment.   Carrot halwa LKR 600 is a MUST TRY  I know I’m always compiling about the sugar! But this high level of sweetness is worth it!  This tasted like a milk peda, but mushy warm and squiggly! It was very therapeutic to just squish  it around, the smell and taste was heaven!  4 ️Masala chai LKR 180  RFI  It was not hot,  It was sugarless  Masala chai had strong taste of Clove, with undertones of the rest of the spices like cinnamon and cardamom.  MY POV  I think tea and coffee needed to be made and given than adding t
