Coconut hut

New café alert this café is located between Culpi and Marine Drive and I love the interior is very minimalistic and staff pleasant. Easily can accommodate around 30pax for a small gathering

5 🤩Must try

Slow-Braised Beef Sandwich 3200/-

Tender braised beef in toasted multi grain loaf with sharp cheddar, baby greens & a side of hand cut fries.

Pretty crunchy multigrain toast and the beef was filled. I’m so tender. I love the combination of the onion salad with a creamy sauce and the french french fries fries.

I would definitely order this again

3✨Chiffon Pandan Cake 2000/-

I adore the vibrant layers and the elegant presentation, especially with the sprinkle of toasted coconut flakes—it looks delicate yet captivating.

The pairing of coconut cream and jaggery caramel works beautifully with the soft pandan-infused chiffon cake, creating a lovely tropical profile. However, the outer cream layer—possibly buttercream—didn’t quite have that melt-in-the-mouth quality. While I appreciated that it was less sweet than typical buttercream, the texture wasn’t to my preference. Overall, I’d rate this a three; I wouldn’t be inclined to try it again unless the icing was removed.

4⭐️ Treacle Cloud Pancakes 1950/-
Light, airy pancakes layered with golden treacle, a refreshing tropical fruit salsa, and a delicate touch of cream.

The pancakes were perfectly fluffy, paired with fresh, vibrant fruits and smooth whipped cream that wasn’t overly sweet—a welcome change from the usual butter-and-syrup-heavy versions. While the natural flavors stood well on their own, I would have loved a small side of syrup for an optional hint of extra sweetness. Overall, a solid four stars, and yes—I’d happily order them again.

Must try
5 🤩Mango Matcha Rs.1450
Again, I’m a sucker for layers and this Matcha latte was so good. The mango was natural and had a good consistency and perfectly sweeten the Macha and it didn’t overpower the flava. It was a good combination and if you’re a Macha lover with a tropical twist, you’ll definitely love this as much as I did

Barry coco crush
I’m not a big fan of banana In a drink. So even though this was a very frosty creamy drink, it didn’t have a lot of chocolate in it, but I love that they have added Chia seeds and had the natural sweetness. so for me, I might not order this again

5🤩Thai Green Curry Bowl Rs. 2850

Fragrant Thai chicken green curry served over jasmine rice & brinjal sambol

The Thai green curry was perfect. The thickness, the consistency, and the spice was perfect. The steamed rice potion was less in my opinion. Maybe they can increase the rise a bit. And the brindle sample I’ve never had a dish which compliments each other in such a way but 10 out of 10

Kokaya

This is a spread that is made out of Coconut and it has a rich for me texture and has a mile sweetness, and I felt like it had a bit of a mature taste even though the Cullah is consistent of with honey. I think it’s a different different addition for a spread or even you can add it into a drink and have it.

Delicately wrapped, each bite reveals a succulent prawn, offering a taste as light as the ocean breeze. 5🌟 Chicken Scallops and Chives Dumpling LKR1500 Shaped like an ear, with a slight roast enhancing the hidden, lightly flavored meatball. A vibrant presentation adds to the overall experience. 🤩 Sweet and Sour Garupa LKR7000  MUST TRY  The star of the table, initially intimidating with its head and eyes. Despite the initial scare, guests devoured it like a salad. Fried in a light batter with a golden syrup bath, the fish body surprises with a bone-free, crunchy delight. The hint of pineapple, sweet corn, and the crunch of bell pepper leave you yearning for more. 🤩 XO Fried Rice with Scallops and Prawns LKR2900  MUST TRY  A loaded delight with prawns and egg, making additional side dishes nearly obsolete. 5 ⭐️ Sich...

Central all day dining- Shangrila buffet

New year dinner for 4 pax without taxes - 50,000/- (12,500 per person)  It was undoubtedly a crowded evening at the Central Cafe in Shangila. We had booked appointments to eat there during the celebrations for the new year. As in usual days they have a variety of menu, but they yet again made it extravagant.  There were several meat carvings, including hog, turkey, and fish, along with a wide selection of sauces, veggies, pickles, and condiments and not mention the ice carvings that one can admire inclusive a cheese fountain.      In 1971, Malaysian entrepreneur Robert Kuok introduced the Shangri-La chain of hotels. The first Shangri-La hotel debuted in Singapore in 1971, and since then the company has grown to include hotels all over the world under its renowned luxury hotel brand. Consequently, you will find some foreign chefs and management maintaining the international standards and it also  adds a Singaporean and Hong Kong touch in their menu. Even tho...
