Delifrance - Sri Lanka

3.5⭐️Delifrance Hot Chocolate - LKR 620

A subtle but frothy hot chocolate, nothing exceptional but worth a reorder if your not in to the thickness

🍕 Tandoori Pizza (LKR 1500): Crispy as a biscuit and loaded with toppings, the tandoori pizza was a delightful fusion of homemade comfort and professional craftsmanship. The initial sharp spice mellowed out after a few bites, and the accompanying ice tea was a welcome companion for the spice.

🥧 Mutton Pie (LKR 550):  I must confess that the Mutton Pie didn't quite align with my taste preferences. Regrettably, it didn't manage to capture my favor, and I say this with a hint of disappointment. The mutton filling, though promisingly fragrant, leaned towards dryness, and unfortunately, the pastry mirrored this lack of moisture. This particular combination left me less satisfied than I had hoped

🍚 Garlic Rice (LKR 750): The garlic rice was a fragrant revelation, perfectly accompanied by sunny side up eggs, stewed chicken, salad, and papadam. The chicken stew surprised my palate with a rustic balance of flavors and just the right amount of spice—a nod to the Sri Lankan taste. and that much required crunch came from the authentic sri lankan papadam ws spot on! (i would like a bit more salads to go with)

🥤 Cookie Shake (LKR 1010): Indulgence in a glass! The buttery vanilla cookie notes combined with the richness of caramel, resulting in a shake that was thick, frothy, and accompanied by delightful cookie bits. It's like sipping a shake and having a cookie in harmony.

🍑 Peach Ice Tea (LKR 540): A sip of summer! The black tea infused with ripe peach flavor offered the perfect level of sweetness. Remember to give it a thorough stir before enjoying it, especially on a scorching day.

🍽️ Delightful Delifrance Dining Experience! 🥐🍕🍹

📍 Location: Delifrance Colombo

📝 Review:

If you're seeking an exceptional culinary adventure that blends French food with local flavors, look no further than Delifrance Colombo!

🥐 Croissant (LKR 660): A true game-changer! Even as someone who isn't typically fond of plain croissants, I was blown away by the one here. Its heavenly aroma, flaky texture, and delicate sweetness transported my taste buds straight to France. Pair it with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate for a truly indulgent experience.

🍰 Pineapple Crumble Slice (LKR 600): Sunshine on a plate! The layers of thin vanilla cake, pineapple, and cream created a visually pleasing treat. While not overly sweet, the cake was a touch dry.

.

In summary, Delifrance Colombo exceeded my expectations with its blend of French finesse and local flair. Each dish held its own unique charm, making for a memorable culinary journey. Whether you're a fan of pastries, pizzas, or refreshing beverages, Delifrance offers a delightful array to choose from. Don't miss the chance to experience a taste of France right in the heart of Colombo! 🇫🇷❤️

Kaikos - No tax

Brightly lit and featuring a play area for kids with various toys and activities, this space aims to evoke nostalgia with its old Sinhala songs reminiscent of an old Kade. Staff Are nice and welcoming  3.5 ⭐️  Salmon Cheese Sandwich (700/-)  A basic sandwich served hot, with the perfect amount of spice. Although the cheese was hardly noticeable, I'll definitely order this again. 4.5 ⭐️  Latte (650/-)  A perfectly crafted, regular latte without sugar. It’s just right. 4 ⭐️  Coconut Latte (750/-)  I initially thought this would be made with coconut milk, but it’s a regular latte topped with desiccated coconut flakes. Slightly sweeter than the regular latte, it's pleasant but not something I’d order again. 3⭐️Club Sandwich – 1000/- The fries accompanying the sandwich had an unpleasant aftertaste, suggesting that the oil used for frying was subpar. The sandwich itself fell short of a true club sandwich. While it featured multiple layers, the meat—possibly ...

Central all day dining- Shangrila buffet

New year dinner for 4 pax without taxes - 50,000/- (12,500 per person)  It was undoubtedly a crowded evening at the Central Cafe in Shangila. We had booked appointments to eat there during the celebrations for the new year. As in usual days they have a variety of menu, but they yet again made it extravagant.  There were several meat carvings, including hog, turkey, and fish, along with a wide selection of sauces, veggies, pickles, and condiments and not mention the ice carvings that one can admire inclusive a cheese fountain.      In 1971, Malaysian entrepreneur Robert Kuok introduced the Shangri-La chain of hotels. The first Shangri-La hotel debuted in Singapore in 1971, and since then the company has grown to include hotels all over the world under its renowned luxury hotel brand. Consequently, you will find some foreign chefs and management maintaining the international standards and it also  adds a Singaporean and Hong Kong touch in their menu. Even tho...
