The two eggplant dips offer different experiences – one is like a salad, the other is incredibly smooth. Though not the most visually appealing, their flavors are spot on. The hummus is as creamy as ever, the tabbouleh offers a burst of fresh herbiness, and the muhammara's nutty sweetness is simply irresistible.

Free Range Chicken Breast - 3500/-

Prepare to be amazed by our Free Range Chicken Breast, a top-class dish featuring two expertly grilled chicken breasts served with buttered vegetables and a side of peppercorn sauce.

What sets this dish apart from others is the mashed potatoes. Normally not my favorite, these mashed potatoes were so smooth, creamy, and cheesy that I devoured them with gusto! They melted in my mouth, and a bit of texture would have made them even more perfect.

The peppercorn sauce is another highlight, offering a creamy yet spicy kick that is uniquely delicious.

2.5⭐️Chicken nasigorang 

Ok it lacked the usual saltiness and lack of colour. It tastes more sweet and smoky, the chicken satay was pretty dry 

2⭐️The deviled chicken 

Far from being the type we call deviled, it was just cubes of chicken tossed with green peppers onions rotates in tomato sauce! 








 

So we went to try their drinks 

Lychee martini LKR 3000 - I didn't taste it 

3🌟Rum paradise LKR 2400 
Loved the coconut Water infused lychee, which was sweet alas it didn’t have enough alcohol into for me to feel anything thing. 


As bites 

Polos cutlet LKR 1650- not available 

3🌟Prawn cutlet LKR 2100  was more of potatoes than of prawn, nevertheless hot and crunchy 

Wade on a stick 

we wanted Masala Wade 

 We expected a wade on a stick and it was served in the normal round shape. Taste was good with mint chutney, yet our expectation was a it should come on a stick!

Brightly lit and featuring a play area for kids with various toys and activities, this space aims to evoke nostalgia with its old Sinhala songs reminiscent of an old Kade. Staff Are nice and welcoming  3.5 ⭐️  Salmon Cheese Sandwich (700/-)  A basic sandwich served hot, with the perfect amount of spice. Although the cheese was hardly noticeable, I'll definitely order this again. 4.5 ⭐️  Latte (650/-)  A perfectly crafted, regular latte without sugar. Central all day dining- Shangrila buffet

New year dinner for 4 pax without taxes - 50,000/- (12,500 per person)  It was undoubtedly a crowded evening at the Central Cafe in Shangila. We had booked appointments to eat there during the celebrations for the new year.
