Lake side room service

4🌟🌶Their biryani is one of our fav, it has adequate amount of shrimp, inkling of spice. comes with raitha and fresh side salad. (this the side salad was a bit rotten, so beware before serving.

This kothu too had reasonable amount of prawns, the paratha was a bit dry, it had a creamy gravy with hint of spice for Sri Lankan standard.

Chappathi LKR 690 3 pcs in a set

They came warm and soft, pretty much healthy I guess just the way I wanted

FISH TIKKA LKR 2120   MUST TRY
This was simply amazing, filled with Indian spices, and the texture super creamy with around 6 pcs of boneless fish cubes!! gosh I'm drooling as I think of it!

TIP: Ask for some lime wedges and squeeze them over the chapati or the gravy, it enhance the flavor of the dish tremendously

⭐️Dish: Healthy Fit (LKR 2750)

Description:

Main Course: Slow-cooked chicken supreme, paired with mixed green beans, caramelized squash with almonds.

Thoughts:

Chicken: Tender, but lightly seasoned. The tomato and onion salad provided a burst of flavor.

Green Beans: Slightly buttered with a hint of garlic. Loved the crispness, though more beans would've been great.

Caramelized Squash: Sweet, but still had sugar crystals, not fully caramelized. Almonds added a milky crunch, reminiscent of manioc or bathala.

Overall, it felt like a wholesome meal with a dessert-like quality. Perfect for a special occasion, like Christmas. 🍽️

🤩TUNA NICOSE LKR 1780/-
Surprise met delight when I encountered a plate of sushi with a fiery twist. Raw fish, wrapped in a delicate peppery embrace, was a tantalizing start to the meal. Though it consisted of just four petite pieces, each bite carried a burst of flavor.

Accompanied by tiny, delicate quail eggs, their taste reminiscent of beautifully fermented delicacies, and fresh, crisp greens generously coated in a creamy, runny dressing, this dish left me in culinary awe. The ensemble was further elevated with the addition of plump cherry tomatoes and anchovies, their flavors carrying the essence of exquisite fermentation, creating a perfect harmony of sweet and salty notes that played a symphony on my taste buds. In my book, it's a resounding 10/10 - a dish that left an indelible mark.

Lake side club salad

Well I was surprised at the amount of French fries it had! And the club was very good too. 1st thing I checked if the tomatoes were good, as once I had gotten some bad tomatoes as a side salad for a biriyani. But this was good and well worth the price!

Central all day dining- Shangrila buffet

New year dinner for 4 pax without taxes - 50,000/- (12,500 per person)  It was undoubtedly a crowded evening at the Central Cafe in Shangila. We had booked appointments to eat there during the celebrations for the new year. As in usual days they have a variety of menu, but they yet again made it extravagant.  There were several meat carvings, including hog, turkey, and fish, along with a wide selection of sauces, veggies, pickles, and condiments and not mention the ice carvings that one can admire inclusive a cheese fountain.      In 1971, Malaysian entrepreneur Robert Kuok introduced the Shangri-La chain of hotels. The first Shangri-La hotel debuted in Singapore in 1971, and since then the company has grown to include hotels all over the world under its renowned luxury hotel brand. Consequently, you will find some foreign chefs and management maintaining the international standards and it also  adds a Singaporean and Hong Kong touch in their menu. Even tho...
