Srilankan airlines, business class

Well we had excess points so we ended up going to Chennai for a quick shopping spree,
and the best surprise was that we traveled in Business class

as soon as we boarded we were served juices like apple or orange,
coffee or tea
or an alcoholic beverage
i opted for Champaign but i do comply that the Champaign i had Serenediva lounge was much better for me.

It was not a smooth take off, we went in a A320, still after covid19 in two years this is my first flight out of the country. Therefore to see this view and the excitement of traveling was good enough.

I opted for lamb kofta, as a child coming from a Hindu culture, i didn't find meat fascinating, so as i grew up in my late 30's after i started to mingle with a few international friends, they intrigued me enough try these meat items. although i would say this is not a snake or a cockroach to boast eating about, nevertheless its different and i am still getting use to the texture and flavors.

Description: Lamb Kofta
paired with saksuka, broccoli florets & baby jacket potatoes

Well what can i say, the kebab was moist and cooked well, the saksuka was more liked a grilled eggplant, capsicum and tomatoes mushed and drizzled in olive oil maybe? it paired well with the bread i got and the lamb kofta added some saltiness to the saksuka. who said plane meals are basic?

May be this view made the food taste that much better?

Hello Chennai! Look at the view it was very different to Srilanka, colorful building and it comes in all different shapes and sizes!!

Finally arrived at the Chennai airport, it was quite a bit airport and under renovation, the place was a bit deserted.
As you wait for the luggage the staff will come and ask if you need a porter to help you with the luggage for a small fee, only issue is more of them come and ask the same thing!
One could find the over enthusiasm a bit annoying.

We exited the airport and, my god, the area was a disaster. There was nothing to view or be attractive about it, and everyone was trying too hard to assist us obtain a cab, which irritated us.
We were too stuffed from our earlier meals to attempt the Indian filter coffee at the vendor outside.

A must try are there Indian sweets, made with ghee and flour, an the other is the Indian candy floss.

Once our relative had picked us up, we continued to his Pammal apartment building. With portholes and sand dunes, the roadways were abhorrent. I had the impression that Chennai was always undergoing development.

It was a miracle that one car could fit through these lanes and there was no parking discipline.

Had the homemade filter coffee at last. (sorry no pics, you can imagine t was that good) In comparison to the brand Bru, it was more stronger and milk incredibly creamy.

We also had some savory treats like momos and little samosas filled with bakarwadi, all of which were served with a hot chutney or sauce.

Another thing I saw when traveling in India is that, despite the fact that male dominated, women perform the majority of what are thought to be men's occupations. And I saw that women are empowered more here than they are at home. Yes i have been to Thailand and Singapore, this is nothing new. But based on what we see in movies and what I observed in real life, I was astounded by how diligent women truly are.

                                               vande mataram!

Kaikos - No tax

Brightly lit and featuring a play area for kids with various toys and activities, this space aims to evoke nostalgia with its old Sinhala songs reminiscent of an old Kade. Staff Are nice and welcoming  3.5 ⭐️  Salmon Cheese Sandwich (700/-)  A basic sandwich served hot, with the perfect amount of spice. Although the cheese was hardly noticeable, I'll definitely order this again. 4.5 ⭐️  Latte (650/-)  A perfectly crafted, regular latte without sugar. It’s just right. 4 ⭐️  Coconut Latte (750/-)  I initially thought this would be made with coconut milk, but it’s a regular latte topped with desiccated coconut flakes. Slightly sweeter than the regular latte, it's pleasant but not something I’d order again. 3⭐️Club Sandwich – 1000/- The fries accompanying the sandwich had an unpleasant aftertaste, suggesting that the oil used for frying was subpar. The sandwich itself fell short of a true club sandwich. While it featured multiple layers, the meat—possibly ...

Central all day dining- Shangrila buffet

New year dinner for 4 pax without taxes - 50,000/- (12,500 per person)  It was undoubtedly a crowded evening at the Central Cafe in Shangila. We had booked appointments to eat there during the celebrations for the new year. As in usual days they have a variety of menu, but they yet again made it extravagant.  There were several meat carvings, including hog, turkey, and fish, along with a wide selection of sauces, veggies, pickles, and condiments and not mention the ice carvings that one can admire inclusive a cheese fountain.      In 1971, Malaysian entrepreneur Robert Kuok introduced the Shangri-La chain of hotels. The first Shangri-La hotel debuted in Singapore in 1971, and since then the company has grown to include hotels all over the world under its renowned luxury hotel brand. Consequently, you will find some foreign chefs and management maintaining the international standards and it also  adds a Singaporean and Hong Kong touch in their menu. Even tho...
