After the COVID, this was my first opportunity to go abroad, and it was to Chennai. Although I was a little disappointed, given the economic crisis that Sri Lanka was through, I was grateful for the opportunity to travel.
As a business class traveler, we had access to the Serenediva lounge, but it was unclear which lounge we should have used because there were two with the same name. (Clearly, we were meant to go to the Sri Lankan Airlines lounge; One World was using the other)
When compared to the imposing doors of the One World Room, the little lounge didn't appear very inviting when we entered. A stewardess welcomed us and requested us to make ourselves comfortable after checking our boarding passes.
There was no one at the bar or to seek assistance from aside from the waitress at the entryway. Essentially, all we had to do was go exploring on our own, which is precisely what we did.
There were salads and cheese, breads, cakes, sweets, drinks, tea, and of course our favorite rice and curry when we took a closer look at the food.
Our flight was 45 minutes late. We had about two hours to kill, so I started with the salad, doing my best to stay away from the carbohydrates and making a feeble effort to sample everything
My companion ordered the standard yellow rice dish with tempered potatoes, cutlets, pineapple, and papad. Even though the cutlet wasn't served hot, it was still excellent. The Moju was out of this world.
It was quite difficult to complete the lunch at this point. However, I had to sample the sweets, which were few. I didn't eat the cakes since they didn't appear appetizing, but the caramel and yogurt pudding were delicious.
When we finally saw the bartender, we ordered a drink. despite not being a lover of champagne, this bubbly was fantastic. I've been taught that brut is a type of dry wine. It was simply ideal.
On a final note the food was definitely not disappointing for me, do leave a comment.
what was your experience on the lounge service at Serenediva?
